Shared Education

At Glastry we work together with St Columba’s and Strangford College to provide a broad and balanced education for our students.  We have chosen to work together because we feel that our proximity and excellent relationship empowers us with the ability to achieve.  Currently we have over 720 pupils involved in the program across the three partner schools.

What is Shared Education designed to achieve?

The purpose of shared education is to -

(a) deliver educational benefits to children and young persons – Raising attainment
(b) promote the efficient and effective use of resources – Shared with all, therefore reducing costs
(c) promote equality of opportunity – Access to as many benefits for all students from all backgrounds
(d) promote good relations – Foster good relationships between people from all backgrounds
(e) promote respect for identity, diversity and community cohesion.
